Leopoldsburg - Army - WO II

Leopoldsburg has a unique history as a garrison town.
Since 1835, the largest army camp in Belgium has been located here, the Camp of Beverlo.
During the liberation in World War II, Leopoldsburg played a major role in the world-famous Operation Market Garden.
Visitors can explore on foot or by bicycle from Leopoldsburg. Within a radius of one hour there are no less than 12 important military WWII cemeteries, where a total of about 100,000 victims of fourteen nationalities.
The British military cemetery, War Cemetry, is within walking distance of our hotel.
There are 782 graves from WWII.
